State and National Awards Reception
Each spring, The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards recognizes state and national award recipients and their mentors at an annual reception of UA faculty, staff, and students.
Celebrating Discovery
The Celebrating Discovery Program connects current U of A students with high school students where they graduated, or within the Northwest Arkansas area, to share their college experiences. U of A students speak about research and study abroad opportunities, and their general academic experience! This allows high school students to see the opportunities that a college education can offer them.
If you are interested in participating in the Celebrating Discovery Program or have questions, email ONCA at awards@uark.edu.
Workshops
The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards regularly holds workshops for specific awards. These workshops will include a scholarship overview, advice on preparing the application, and distribution of sample applications and successful materials. The campus deadline for these awards usually comes a month or two following the workshop, allowing students enough time to prepare applications.
Barry Goldwater Scholarship Information Meeting
On November 4, 2013, Dr. Suzanne McCray presented at a workshop for the Barry Goldwater Scholarship. Please feel free to download the Goldwater PowerPoint presentation.
